Sometimes
you have a friend who's so dear, so good, she impacts your life
in such a way that no matter where you are in life, the memory
of that special person remains with you throughout your lifetime
-- such is the memory of my friend, Ella Irene Davidson.
Irene died one day and one month before the birth of my eldest
son, Brian.
Irene and I as well as a number of other CHS classmates all
lived within a block or two of each other from the time we
were about 8 years old, sharing wonderful times in Brownies
and Girl Scouts, long lazy summers, and fun-filled years of
high school until we graduated from our beloved CHS -- then,
on to San Jose State or Foothill or wherever it was that "life" was
taking us - we remained friends until the sad and tragic day
that she was "taken" from us, in a vehicle accident.
Irene always had a warm, welcoming, infectious, smile for
everyone she encountered. She was loyal, loving, and kind to
all of us.
To this wonderful friend of ours, I honor her memory with
this tribute:
"A friend is someone who knows all
about you, but loves you just the same."
Irene, your generous love for your friends remains with
us lifelong, your memory, beloved friend, is held dear and
close,
Jerry Ice Burr
