What have you been up to for the last 45 years?
After high school off to Berkeley amidst the Free Speech Movement. After years of school and dancing away from the draft boards, off to the US Army. In their infinite wisdom, they trained me to be a Vietnamese language interpreter for nearly a year and then sent me off as a clerk. Consequently, I had a very safe and inconsequential tour in lovely Da Nang. I'm available to translate Vietnamese restaurant menus for a modest fee (the only possible practical use for a year's worth of the taxpayers' dollars).
Came back to San Francisco and went to work for Bank of America. Got sold off by the bank in 1991 to my current employer.
Moved to the suburbs of the East Bay when our son was ready for school. He's finally graduated and off the family payroll. Got replaced by an Irish Setter puppy who is turning out to be almost as expensive.
All in all, a good life!
